At the battle of Amiens, the Allies had 75,000 men, but that wasn't all. They also brought 500 tanks and almost 2,000 planes along with them. With this much firepower, on top of which they had the element of surprise, it was no wonder the first day of the attack was so successful. The Germans on the other hand only had 37,000 men and only 369 planes, on top of which they had no time to prepare a defense. After the first day, the Allies had taken 27,000 German lives, and another 12,000 submitted themselves to the Allies, allowing them to take them as prisoners. In comparison, the Allies had only lost 6,500 men.
